Is there a skip button for Playable Archive puzzles?
The public Steam copy does not name a puzzle skip. Treat stalls as missed inspect, missed pry, or missing camera playback.
Playable Archive puzzles: rewatch Mini DV, pry wall cavities, revisit objects. No skip. Crowbar plus tape stall is the camera. Verified October 2026.
Tape evidence and object revisits.

Playable Archive puzzles are investigation: inspect, watch Mini DV in full, then walk the same rooms again. This page is for Steam Playable Archive by DarkStone Digital (App 5356470) — not Blue Archive, not Internet Archive. There is no named skip. Verified October 29, 2026 · Steam.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Game | Playable Archive · DarkStone Digital |
| Puzzle type | Inspection + tape playback + object revisit — not inventory crafting |

Steam tags the listing as adventure, puzzle, exploration, hidden object, and investigation. In the sitting that matches, that does not mean a backpack of parts that combine into a key. You click documents, wall cavities, bodies, and renovation clutter until a prompt names an object. You then need a tool or a tape that the prompt implied. If the prompt is “I need something to pry this open,” the next action is the crowbar, not a new wing of the house.
Clue order is tape-gated. A community recap of the archive footage has a detective on scene (Lamar Robbins, Rochester, New York, file fragment KCR25014) recording August 8th around 8:00 p.m. That same recap says a videotape found on a victim “suggests a hidden compartment in the bedroom,” then later “object of note in the wall cavity” — a painted wood board that “seems like it was taken from the setup on the dining room table.” Those are in-world notes, not a wiki-invented map. Treat them as instructions: finish the clip, then go to the room the clip named.

Do not look for a crafting grid, a recipe book, or a numeric keypad whose code is published on this page. Codes that are not on a timestamped HUD stay Unverified and unpublished. Steam also lists demonic rituals and symbols as separate systems — those belong on rituals and symbols, not as “puzzle answers” you type into a lock.
A puzzle is done when a new interact appears, a cavity opens, a labeled tape is in inventory, or a clip actually plays. If the world did not change, you did not solve it — you only hovered it. After a change, sweep edges of rooms you already marked done. The next section covers the stall where you have a tape and still cannot watch it.
The first named cassette in a community recap is a Mini DV whose label reads August 8th. The same recap has the player say they have no tapes, then find that Mini DV in a victim’s hand. Wanting to “play the tape” before that pickup does nothing. After pickup, wanting to play it still does nothing until a camera exists that can insert tape.
Playback is the puzzle. Clips are not flavor you skip. The August 8th recap includes detective dictation (female victim, mid-to-late 20s, 4-to-5-inch neck laceration; male victim with earlier decomposition; dining table laid with occult materials). Later it cuts into couple footage (“this thing’s heavy,” “I need to hide this”). If you close the clip early, you miss the sentence that names the next cavity. Watch to the end even when the image is uncomfortable.

| You have | You lack | Do this |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing named Mini DV | Tape | Resweep bodies and hands. Prompt “Mini DV tape. The label says August 8th.” |
| August 8th Mini DV | Camera | Stop searching for a second lock. Camera location. |
| Camera + tape | Full playback | Use → Insert tape. Do not quit. No save. |
| Finished clip | World change | Return to the room or object the clip named (bedroom compartment / wall cavity in recap). |
A later recap beat names another tape, a hand-bound booklet, a pediment slate, and a tape labeled bind. Exact slot names stay Unverified until a HUD still is captured. Do not invent a binder-code table. Play the tape you just picked up before you hunt a fourth item. If insert-tape is greyed out, you are on the camera problem, not a new puzzle.
Early couple dialogue jokes about smashing locked doors with a crowbar. That is character talk, not a prompt to destroy every door. The tool pickup in a community recap is a short inspect: “Oh, crowbar,” then electrical noise in the same area. A few minutes later the same recap says they will need the crowbar for something. The silent walkthrough recap then hits the real use line: “I need something to pry this open.” That is the lock. Equip the bar and interact with the prompted cavity, not a random door.
After the pry, the walkthrough recap logs “object of note in the wall cavity” and the painted wood board tied to the dining-table setup. If you pry and see no new object, you pried the wrong surface or you have not triggered the prompt yet. Walk away, finish the last tape, come back. Do not brute-force every plank in the renovation pile — the game highlights the cavity once the tape or inspect has armed it.

Players on Steam report holding both crowbar and tape and still being stuck. The bar opens cavities. It does not play Mini DV. If pry already happened and you are hunting a second “puzzle door,” you likely skipped the playback tool. That fork is the next two sections, then the dedicated camera page.
The house is a renovation: boxes, pantry, toilet, hobby-space notes, kitchen objects that were not there “last time.” A recap explicitly tells itself to look at everything because the couple has started moving in. Edges and previously “done” props are where Mini DV and cavity prompts hide. The archive desk is not the only interactable surface.
| Clue (recap) | Why it is missed | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Mini DV August 8th | Player already tried “play tape” before the cassette exists | Named on HUD in community recap |
| Bedroom hidden compartment | Named on a victim tape, not on a map marker | Unverified exact furniture |
| Wall cavity / painted wood board | Looks like renovation trash until pry prompt arms | Walkthrough recap names it |
| Dining-table occult layout | Detective notes it; board later referenced as taken from that setup | Do not skip the table inspect |
| Tape labeled bind / booklet / pediment slate | Dropped in a later bundle; easy to pocket and ignore | Names Unverified until stills |
| Keypad / combo lock codes | Players import codes from other games | Do not publish — Unverified |
When you stall, inspect paper and symbols in good light, not the scare that interrupted you. Steam warns that exposure to symbols has not been risk-assessed — that is flavor plus a real interact. Photograph or trace only after you have the camera and after you have read the board. The symbols page owns mark names; this page only tells you not to skip the document that sits next to the mark.
Public store copy does not name a puzzle skip. Treat a freeze as missed evidence, not a broken quest flag. Work this list once, in order, without quitting (no save).
30–60 minutes · no save system. A restart only helps if you already quit. If the sitting is still live, the evidence is in a room you walked through. Write the last HUD line on paper if you must stand up. Then either resume the walkthrough chapter order or jump to camera if the hardware is the missing piece.
Steam already pinned a discussion titled like Camera location? for players who have a crowbar and a tape. Media recaps also call the camera a primary investigation tool. That stall is not a hidden-object miss in a new room. It is missing playback. This puzzles page will not invent a closet name to fake a pin. Furniture location stays Unverified until a pickup still is captured on the camera article.
Rule of thumb: if the last successful action was picking up August 8th Mini DV or prying a cavity, and the next verb you want is “play,” you are done with puzzles for that beat. If the last successful action was a full tape and the world named a compartment you have not opened, stay here and resweep. If symbols or a slate of command appear, you have left the early tape loop — rituals and symbols own those steps.
If crowbar and tape are in inventory and nothing plays, open camera next — that is the Steam stuck thread, not a second lock.
If a clip already named a room and you have playback, resume the walkthrough instead of rereading this table.
Marks and rites after the early Mini DV loop: symbols then rituals. Discord leftovers: Discord.
The public Steam copy does not name a puzzle skip. Treat stalls as missed inspect, missed pry, or missing camera playback.
No. They are inspection, tape playback, and object revisits. Do not import backpack-crafting tables from other games.
Community recap HUD: Mini DV, label August 8th. Pickup furniture is Unverified until a still is captured.
Confirm the prompt “I need something to pry this open” was on that surface, crowbar equipped. If not, finish the last tape and return. Exact cavity furniture is Unverified.
Usually not. That is the Steam camera-location stall. Open the camera page.
Not from this wiki until a timestamped HUD exists. Unpublished codes here are Unverified on purpose.
No save system. One sitting. Note the last tape name and last object if you must stop.
