Does Playable Archive have multiple endings?
Not confirmed on the Steam page. Autocomplete “endings” is unverified. This wiki documents one sitting’s final sequence.
Playable Archive ending: one sitting finale plus Steam timelines. Plural endings stay unverified. Store copy names no branches. Verified October 2026.
Final sequence and fractured chronology.
~8 min read
This Playable Archive ending page covers the last stretch of one sitting of Playable Archive (Steam App 5356470, DarkStone Digital): the final sequence, fractured footage, and the store line about multiple timelines. Google Autocomplete also asks for playable archive endings (plural) and an ending guide. The Steam store page does not confirm multiple endings. Treat plural “endings” as unverified until a HUD, credits line, or developer post names more than one close.
Read after you finish. The no-commentary capture TZNYjbi36J8 (iampanax) puts the last spoken beats in the final minutes: “We're together now,” overlapping archive voices, then “Open the gate.” KingWoolz oB8VrKC9iJI hits the same close around 52:32–53:26 before credits. Interpretation is labeled separately from Steam copy and those timestamps.

No public Steam confirmation. The store copy for Playable Archive names three experiences: perform demonic rituals, communicate with the dead, and experience multiple timelines. It does not say “multiple endings,” does not list ending IDs, and does not describe a choice screen. Play on Steam.
Google Autocomplete on playable archive ending returns playable archive endings and playable archive ending guide. That is search language. Players type “endings” for found-footage shorts, cancelled projects, and P.T.-shaped teases even when the product ships one close. This wiki will not mint Good / Bad / True rows to match that autocomplete.
If a future patch, achievement list, or Clarke/DreadXP post names more than one finale, this page updates. Until then, a YouTube title that says “all endings” is not a source. A second sitting that looks different because you skipped a tape is a missed evidence path, not a documented branch.
| Phrase | Treat as |
|---|---|
| Multiple timelines (Steam) | Official experience line — not an ending count |
| Endings (Google AC) | Unverified. Do not build a branch table |
| Ending guide (Google AC) | This page: one sitting’s last minutes |
| No save system (Steam) | You cannot reload an “other ending” |
| Community theory posts | Interpretation until a named HUD state exists |
Found-footage horror and cancelled-IP shorts train people to hunt secret closes. Playable Archive is a trimmed larger project (see origins). Cut content invites “there must be another ending” even when the shipped build plays one sequence to credits. Autocomplete is demand, not a changelog.
Spoiler-heavy. The sitting is framed as a leaked archive: a New England couple renovating the only house they can afford, a mysterious object the anonymous report says was not retrieved with the footage, then ritual work that the in-game speaker ties to keys, a demon, and the threshold. Steam already lists demonic rituals and communicating with the dead; the captures show those lines as spoken instruction, not as a separate “ending select.”
In TZNYjbi36J8, the last stretch after the ritual briefing runs: “We're together now” (~33:15), overlapping archive speech (hands bound / over the threshold / restore), then “Open the gate” (~34:06). KingWoolz’s capture of the same beat (~52:32–53:26) has the couple-close line, overlapping voices, and the same gate command before the player is in credits. ASR on both files is noisy (“Trinity,” “gate 12,” “minotaurs”). Those strings are not official ending names. Do not cite them as Steam labels.
The walkthrough file’s ritual briefing (~26:14–27:49) is the setup for that close, not a second finale: tracing symbols calls “it”; different tracings, markings, and offerings change intent; every reach-out strengthens the connection; every demon has keys; keys command, bind, and lead back to the threshold; “When the threshold is built with the correct keys, the demon will be tied to it”; “Draw the key and it will obey”; leftover knowledge is “meant for you.” That is in-archive instruction for the sitting you are already in.
No on-screen ending picker. No named ending card in the no-commentary file. No Steam achievement dump on this wiki proving three closes. If you quit at the ritual table, you did not “get ending A” — you aborted a no-save sitting.
The Oct 27, 2026 hotfix PA-005 restored missing DreadXP credits at the end. If an older recap’s credit roll looks short, that is a pre-hotfix capture, not a different story close.
Steam: you experience multiple timelines. Public docs do not list count, names, switch method, or per-timeline item diffs. Those fields stay TBA until a sitting logs them. Multiple timelines can mean the archive intercuts past/present footage inside one close. That is the conservative read. It is not the same sentence as “multiple endings.”
The house is the same New England renovation space the trailer opens on (“Here we are” / “the only house we can afford”). Footage, documents, and rites re-read that space. A room that looks “wrong” after a tape is evidence, not proof you hopped to Ending 2. Revisit objects after each major tape — that loop is how the sitting reaches the last minutes, documented on walkthrough and puzzles.
| Field | Public status |
|---|---|
| Timeline count | TBA — play verification |
| Timeline names | TBA |
| How you switch | TBA |
| Per-timeline people / items | TBA |
| Correct watch order of clips | TBA beyond “do not skip tapes” |
| Equals multiple endings? | No — unverified |
Steam: a New England couple finds a mysterious object during renovations; the anonymous report claims no such object was retrieved with the obtained footage. The ending sequence is the archive’s last handling of that gap. This page does not name the object beyond Steam’s wording. Invented artifact titles belong in fan posts, not in this table.
For the Playable Archive ending itself: TZNYjbi36J8, last minutes, pre-credits. Start ~33:15 if you already finished rites; start ~26:14 if you need the in-archive key/threshold briefing in the same file. Do not use the official trailer pqMxU4EcnSI as an ending recap — it is the remodel cold-open, not the gate.
KingWoolz oB8VrKC9iJI is the long sitting with talk. Use ~52:32–53:26 for the same close, then stay through credits. Around 54:40 he reads Brian Clarke’s Steam community post (burnout, DreadXP, cutting-room floor, free Halloween shadow drop). That post is origins, not a second ending. Mixing the two is how “cancelled” searchers invent a secret close.
| Video | Use for ending |
|---|---|
| TZNYjbi36J8 ~26:14–27:49 | Ritual/key briefing (setup, not a branch) |
| TZNYjbi36J8 ~33:15–34:06 | Final sequence → “Open the gate” |
| oB8VrKC9iJI ~52:32–53:26 | Same close with commentary |
| oB8VrKC9iJI ~54:40 | Credits era + Steam post — send to origins |
| pqMxU4EcnSI | Do not use — trailer house open |
HUD / store facts: free Steam short, 30–60 minutes, no save, one sitting, English VO/subs, Mature violence/murder/occult, DarkStone Digital / DreadXP, App 5356470. Experiences: demonic rituals, communicate with the dead, multiple timelines. Symbol exposure is not risk-assessed (Steam).
Capture facts: last spoken line in the no-commentary file is “Open the gate.” Earlier archive instruction binds keys to the threshold. Couple-close line “We're together now” appears in both captures.
Interpretation (not HUD): whether the gate “succeeds,” whether the couple is saved, whether the whistleblower is in the house, whether Threshold-the-cancelled-game is the in-world threshold. Mark those as theory. Do not flatten them into an endings chart.
Crowbar + tape, no camera: camera. Marks without a rite: symbols then rituals. Chapter order: walkthrough. This ending page assumes those loops already ran.
Inner page only. Do not put the gate frame on hub cards. The loop below is the pre-credits “Open the gate” beat from the no-commentary sitting.

Why the sitting is a short free drop: origins.
If the last rite never started: rituals.
Chapter order for a fresh sitting: walkthrough.
Not confirmed on the Steam page. Autocomplete “endings” is unverified. This wiki documents one sitting’s final sequence.
No. Steam names timelines as an experience. Count and names are TBA. Do not equate that line with a branch list.
TZNYjbi36J8 ends the playable stretch on “Open the gate.” (~34:06).
No save system. A new sitting is a full restart, not a documented New Game Plus ending menu.
Origins page. KingWoolz reads it on-stream ~54:40 in oB8VrKC9iJI. That is not an ending variant.
